Fractured, Not Finished is a raw, unflinching anthology from writers who turned pain into prose. These stories rise from the cracks—thrillers, horror, heartbreak, and hope—all bound by one truth: broken doesn’t mean done.

Authors

Writers are invited to submit short stories between 1,000–2,500 words, designed to be read in 5–10 minutes.

Artists

Visual artists are invited to submit original artwork for consideration as the official anthology cover.

The goal:

To celebrate how survivors of abuse, childhood trauma, sexual assault, and domestic violence reclaim their narratives through honesty, rhythm, and imagination.

Submission Guidelines

Flash Fiction Category

  • Word count: 1,000–2,500 words

  • Prompt: Window (interpret however your genre-loving brain desires)

  • Format: Word or Google Doc

  • Deadline: Submissions close January 5, 2026. Voting opens January 10 and runs through January 31, 2026.

  • Genre: Open—write what calls to you.

  • Trigger warnings: Required if applicable.

  • Author note (optional): 1–2 sentences about how trauma influences your storytelling.

Cover Art Category

  • Theme: Window (interpret freely: abstract, literal, emotional, etc.)

  • Format: High-resolution JPG or PNG (minimum 3000x4500 px, 300 dpi)

  • Deadline: January 5, 2026 (same as story submissions)

  • Prize: The winning design will be featured as the anthology’s official cover. Artist will receive full credit on the cover and inside the book, plus a cash prize (based on total entries).

Authors and artists are also welcome to enter both categories if they wish. Double the chaos, double the creativity.

Voting & Selection

All stories and art will be featured on my website with the ability for readers to “like” their favorites. You’ll get a personalized link to share your story and rally support. Your personalized page will go live January 10, 2026.

  • The top-voted story and winning cover art will each receive a cash prize (amount determined by total entries).

  • Entry fee: $10 for each entry: Covers hosting, formatting, and anthology publication.

  • Every participant will be credited on the project page and in the anthology.

All accepted stories will appear in the published Fractured, Not Finished 

  • (Estimated release date February 28, 2026) The book will be formatted in standard format, black edition, white space and large print for better accessibility.

  • All proceeds from anthology sales will be donated to Joyful Heart Foundation to support trauma survivors.

  • If funds exceed costs, any surplus will go toward additional prizes or accessibility improvements.

  • Every author/artist is their own hype team. Share your story link, shout it from the digital rooftops, and rally your readers to vote!

This isn’t about perfection, it’s about expression. Let your brain do what it does best: create something only you could.
